Dominique has loved gymnastics from the age of five, when she began weekly classes in High Wycombe. During secondary school she attended a club in Prestwood, and more recently helped establish a gymnastics society at the University of Manchester.
Throughout these years she attended ballet classes and began pointe classes in 2009. This background of gymnastics and dance encouraged Dominique to try out cheerleading during her first year of University. Since then it has become a large part of her life and a great passion of hers. She was a member of the University of Manchester Cheerleaders from 2011-2014, competing as a flyer in many events across the country. The highlight of this was being part of a brilliant level 3 co-ed stunt team, who placed 2nd at Future Cheer’s Bournemouth event this July. During this time she was also part of the society’s committee helping to organise transport and uniforms for the team.
Further, in her year of postgraduate study, Dominique became a member of another cheerleading team based in Greater Manchester called Loud and Proud Elites, where she competed as a flyer in an all-girl team at levels 3 and 4, and in a levels 4-6 division at a European competition hosted by UKCA in July.
Despite participating in these teams herself, Dominique has always been keen to help others progress in their gymnastics and cheerleading skills, and began helping to coach a young gymnastics class with Jessica when she was twelve. Having completed her BGU cheerleading levels 1 and 2 coaching qualification in November, Dominique is very excited to be coaching the Chiltern Cheetahs this year, and looks forward to a really successful, fun and rewarding season ahead.
