SCHOOLS

Chiltern Cheetahs works with schools to introduce cheerleading to both boys and girls with the aim of getting them to engage with sport and life long activity.

The Club started as an afterschool activity club at Stoke Poges Primary School as Stoke Starlets and some of the pupils are still with us as competitors and/or coaches 8 years later!

A similar approach at Stokenchurch primary school also saw a number of children extending the sport from an in school experience into fully committed membership of a community based sports club.

Our partnership with Schools was further cemented when Beaconsfield High School, where Jess was a pupil and A Level Dance Student, agreed to partner with the Club to provide a bespoke and dedicated sprung floor gym facility.  Our ties with the school remain and we hope that these will grow well into the future.

In 2019 we also partnered with the Misbourne School with the aim of building a second local satellite facility with the ambition of attracting more male participants to build co-ed teams. We secured interest by offering tasters in school PE sessions and secured Leap Funding to set up after school clubs for a term. The level of interest from pupils has far exceeded expectations and we have since had a further branch of Chiltern Cheetahs based at a new gym at the school.

Once lockdown was eased, we were able to visit many more schools in the local area in 2021, and build up the number of athletes attending our classes at both Beaconsfield and The Misbourne (Great Missenden).

From September 2021, we are delighted to be partnering and developing teams with two more schools near the High Wycombe area.
